Inter Milan, Dortmund Grab First Club World Cup Wins

Inter Milan rallied to beat Urawa Red Diamonds 2-1, knocking the Japanese side out of the Club World Cup in Seattle. Ryoma Watanabe scored early for Urawa, but Lautaro Martinez’s overhead kick and Valentin Carboni’s stoppage-time winner kept Inter atop Group E with four points. “We need pride and resilience,” Martinez told DAZN, as Urawa’s coach Maciej Skorza mourned their elimination.

Borussia Dortmund edged Mamelodi Sundowns 4-3 in Cincinnati’s heat, securing four points in Group F. Lucas Ribeiro’s solo goal gave Sundowns a shock lead, but Felix Nmecha, Serhou Guirassy, and Jobe Bellingham’s first Dortmund goal made it 3-1. Despite late Sundowns strikes, Dortmund held on. “It was like a sauna,” coach Niko Kovac said.

Sundowns still have a knockout chance, while Inter lead River Plate by one point, pending their match against Monterrey. Fluminense, tied with Dortmund, faced Ulsan later. Wins or draws for Inter or Dortmund in their final group games could seal last-16 spots.
