Nepal’s squad announced for T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier

The Nepalese Cricket Team is set for another showdown with the UAE in a bid to secure their T20 World Cup spot. Nepal and UAE will fight in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.

Nepal finished as the runner-up in Group A following a loss to Oman, while the UAE claimed the top spot in Group B with a victory over Hong Kong. The winner of the match will punch a ticket to the upcoming World Cup in the USA and West Indies.

Nepal’s T20 World Cup 2022 dream was shattered after a semifinal loss to UAE in Global Qualifiers. Nepal will seek revenge against UAE on home soil and secure a spot in the T20 World Cup after ten years.

Nepal’s defeat and UAE’s win on Thursday ensured the meeting in the semifinal. The contest will be played at Mulpani on Friday starting from 11:00 NST.

UAE won all three matches in Group B while Oman emerged victorious in all three matches of Group A. Oman’s opponent in the semi-final will be determined after the outcome of the Bahrain-Kuwait clash. Bahrain is likely to grab the remaining spot in the top four.

The two finalists from the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier are all set to book a place in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
